September BoxyCharm

After seeing some sneak peeks of the September BoxyCharm I was super excited to receive it. I did receive my box later than usual but I'm assuming hurricanes had something to do with it.

This box theme is Boxy Baddie

Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette by PUR Cosmetics

This is a beautiful neutral palette. There is 12 shades; 8 of them being matte and the last 4 being shimmer. I found some of the lighter shades needed to be built up a bit when I swatched them but I'm not sure how it will behave on the eyes.

Eyebrow Pencil by MAC

This is a self sharpening eyebrow pencil. I got the shade Spiked which looks to be a dark brown. I haven't tried a ton of products from MAC so I am excited to try it.

Ultra Satin Lip by Colourpop

This is in the shade Littlestitious which is a beautiful dusty pink purple, I would almost call it mauve. This lip is a highly pigmented liquid lipstick. It isn't matte, so it doesn't feel drying on the lips. I personally enjoy the Ultra Satin Lips so I'm excited to add this shade.

Loose Blush by Studio Makeup

This blush doesn't have a shade name, it's just called Luminous Loose Blush. This is supposed to be a lightweight blush that should add a healthy and luminous glow to the cheeks. I find this blush to be in a beautiful salmon pink and it did feel very lightweight when I swatched it. I haven't heard of studio makeup before but I am excited to try this.

Face Perfecting Brush By Bare Minerals

This foundation brush has a "fluid reservoir" where you put your foundation in. This brush is supposed to give you seamless foundation application. I don't typically use a brush to apply my foundation and I'm not sure how this fluid reservoir is supposed to help.

Don't Despair Repair Deep Condition Mask by Briogeo

I am in love with this hair mask and I am so happy to have a bigger tube of it!! This is not the biggest size of this product (it comes in a tub) but I love a squeeze tube (and this product) so I am not even the tiniest bit upset that it isn't the biggest size.

That is everything that I received in my Boxycharm. I am rating this box a 5 stars out of 5. I am happy to have or to try everything in this box! I can't wait to see what is in the October box (the first sneak peek looks amazing)!!!

August Boxycharm

After really enjoying my July Boxycharm and seeing the sneak peeks for the August box, I knew I needed it!

The theme for this month's box is Beach Please! Here is what I got in the box

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Volume 2

This is an eyeshadow palette containing eight cool toned shades. Apparently these eyeshadows are crease proof so you don't need a primer. In the swatches these shadows don't like pigmented, some colours didn't even show up in the swatches. When I tried the shadows on my eyes, they were a bit more pigmented.

PUR Pro Lashes in Diva

These lashes are handcrafted with (apparently) the finest luxury silk. This makes provides ultra lightweight, natural looking fuller lashes. These lashes are cruelty free and are durable and reusable. I got the style "Diva" in my box and I find them to be very dramatic.

The Beauty Corp #GRLPWR Liquid lipstick in the shade Date Night

This is an intensely pigmented liquid lipstick that is enriched with shea butter and vitamin E. These ingredients is supposed to make it a comfortable wear. This lipstick claims to be life proof with serious staying power, so it won't cake, flake or dry out. To be honest, I do find the packaging to be a tad cheap looking and feeling - the lid of my liquid lipstick doesn't actually line up very well with the bottle.

Royal & Langnickel Moda Pro Brush Set

This is a 3 piece brush set. It includes a pointed blush brush, a chisel blender brush and a crease brush. These brushes are very soft and don't shed.

Bellapierre Gel Eyeliner in Ebony

This is a waterproof eyeliner. It was very creamy when I swatched it and the colour payoff was intense. I have tried Bellapierre products before and I have enjoyed them.

That is everything that I received in my Boxycharm. I am rating this box a 5 stars out of 5. I am happy to have or to try everything in this box! I can't wait to see what is in the September box!!!

Do you get Boxycharm? Did you enjoy your August box and did you get the same items as me? Let me know in the comments!

July Boxycharm

I recently jumped back onto the Boxycharm train (read about my past experience here and here)! Boxycharm retails for 21$ American (or 33$ Canadian) for 4-5 full sized items.

The theme of the July Boxycharm is Cutie Pie. Here is what I got in my July box.

Blinc Electric Eyes Palette

This is a five shadow palette in some beautiful jewel tone shades! This shadows are super pigmented and seem to blend nicely (at least on my hand, I haven't tried them on my eyes yet). I think these shadows would look amazing if you spritz your brush with some water or setting spray.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Lock Diary

I personally like the Ultra Satin Lips from Colourpop so when I saw this in the box I got excited! I also didn't purchase anything from the Hello Kitty line. This is a beautiful pink colour and like all Ultra Satin Lips it is very pigmented. I do find that these don't last as long as a matte lip product but the Ultra Satins are way more comfortable to wear!

Bare Minerals Powder Duo

This is a translucent powder duo that features both a matte powder and a glow powder. When I swatched these powders, I didn't see the glow powder showing up on my skin. I have also never used any Bare Minerals products before so I am excited to play with this powder duo more.

WinkyLux Eyebrow Pencil

This is an universal eyebrow pencil. The pencil has a slanted tip which usually makes it easier to apply. I like how this product includes a spoolie on one end but when I swatched this product it seemed really dry and dark.

Project Beauty Setting Spray

This is just a setting spray. It comes in a glass bottle! I have tried this product and I found the spray nozzle did not spray a fine mist but this setting spray worked pretty well.

That is everything that I received in my Boxycharm. I am rating this box a 4 and a half stars out of 5. It lost a half star for the dry eyebrow pencil. However, everything else in the box I am excited to have or to try.

Do you get Boxycharm? Did you enjoy your July box and did you get the same items as me? Let me know in the comments!

Sephora Favorites: Ultimate Skincare Vault

As you all probably know, I am obsessed with value sets especially the Sephora Favorites ones. The Sephora Favorities Ultimate Skincare Vault is an eight piece set focusing on skincare that is supposed to hydrate the skin for softer, smoother and healthy looking complexion.

This kit retails for 46 dollars Canadian and it does not include any full size products unfortunately!

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

I have tried this facial spray before and I did like it but I stopped buying because of the horrible spray nozzle, it always broke on me. Apparently, Caudalie has fixed this spray nozzle problem.  This spray is supposed to add radiance to the skin and tightens the appearance of pores. This facial spray can also be used to set makeup.

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel

These facial peel pads are supposed to give the skin radiance and get rid of uneven skintone and texture, fine lines and wrinkles and large pores. I have personally tried the peel for sensitive skin and I did like it!

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream

This hydration cream is supposed to give the skin 24 hour hydration. This face cream is infused with soothing rosewater and rose flower oil.

Fresh Soy Milk Cleanser

This cleanser removes makeup, dirt and impurities from the skin. This cleanser is a gel consistency and is safe enough to use on your eyes (it can remove mascara). I have tried this cleanser and I like it but not enough to purchase a full size (but I always like the travel size version)!

GlamGlow GravityMud Firming Mask

This is a mad based peel off mask that changes from white to a silver or chrome colour. This mask is supposed to tighten the skin.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask

This is a gel mask that delivers hydration to the skin while you sleep. I have tried this product and I did like it! I also like to use sleeping masks during the day, I just leave it on for a few hours.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

This serum is packed with Vitamin C and collagen for brightening and all day hydration. This serum is also supposed to help brighten and firm the skin.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream

This eye cream has brighteners in it to brighten the under eye. This eye cream also helps to reduce the look of under eye bags and dark circles. My mom is a huge lover of this eye cream so this little sample went to her.

Overall, this value set seems like as good buy if you want to try a bunch of skincare products that hydrate the skin. I am disappointed that there is no full size products or some larger sample sizes. I am also disappointed that there is two Fresh products, not because the products are terrible or I don't like them but I don't like seeing duplicate brands in these value sets.

Have you purchased this value set or another value set? Any posts or reviews you want to see? Let me know in the comments!

Sarah

March Favourites

It has been a long time since I wrote a Favourites post! This is mostly due to using the same products and not really finding any new products I have really enjoyed 100 percent. That has all changed this month!!

Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Perfume

My brother purchased this perfume for my Christmas present and I am so happy he did! I find this fragrance light on the skin but it lasts all day on me. According to the YSL website, This perfume has notes of coffee, white florals and vanilla making it a fragrance full of mystery and energy. I have been wearing this product non stop (and the bottle is super pretty)!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

This bronzer is completely matte and gives the skin a beautiful tan! However, I have been using this product as a crease shade. I think it looks beautiful in the crease as it is pigmented but blends amazingly. This bronzer has all I've been using in my crease this month for all of my eyeshadow looks!

Benefit Dallas Blush

Along with the Hoola Bronzer, I have been using the Dallas Blush as a base lid colour for all of my eyeshadow looks! I absolutely love this dusty rose colour. It is soft enough to wear alone but I love topping it with the next product. This product also blends effortlessly on the skin.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Scratch

I have been using this beautiful rose gold shadow on top of the Dallas blush! This eyeshadow has shimmer to it which I think makes the pinks stand out more! This shadow has great pigmentation and blends easily.

Nudestix Gel Colour Lip + Cheek Balm in Pulse

This product has been living in my purse all month long! It is a beautiful nude with hints of plum. I think it looks so natural on my lips and it goes with almost any makeup look. I personally have not used this product on my cheeks.

That is all of my favourites this month! Short and sweet but these products have my heart! What have you been loving this month?

Stay Beautiful,
Sarah

Face Mask Haul

I recently placed an order for a few face mask on Sephora. I was trying to find face masks that were hydrating for my dry, eczema prone skin.

Dr. Jart Water Replenishment Mask

This sheet mask is ideal for dry skin with redness. This mask will replenish the skin's moisture barrier and contains ingredients to calm the skin as well. I have used this mask once before and I have to say it is amazing! It had a cooling affect which I enjoyed. I also found the redness in my skin disappear after I removed the mask and my skin did feel dehydrated.

Dr. Jart Soothing Hydra Solution

This sheet mask is designed to hydrate the skin. This mask is also supposed to help soothe and calm irritation of the skin. Aloe Vera is one of the ingredients that help soothe and calm the skin. Other ingredients in this mask are supposed to replenish the moisture in the skin.

Dr. Jart Vital Hydra Solution

This is a deep hydration sheet mask that is supposed to enhance the skin's moisture barrier and prevent hydration loss. Also, this sheet mask should hydrate and revitalizes dehydrated skin. This mask is packed with ingredients to help provide hydration, promote moisture and protect the moisture in the skin.

Since I had such a good experience with the Dr. Jart Water Replenishment Mask, it encouraged me to try the other two masks.

To make the minimum spend to use the promo code on Sephora's website I also purchased the
Sephora Collection Rose Lip Mask.

This lip mask is supposed to moisturize and soften the lips. I'm not sure how I feel about lip masks but I am super excited to try it!

That is all of the face masks I purchased. Have you tried any of the Dr. Jart face masks? Do you have a favourite face mask, either Dr. Jart or another brand? Let me know in the comments!

Stay Beautiful,
Sarah

Sephora Favorites Quench Your Skin Review

We all know value sets are my favourite thing to purchase, so when I saw this value set, I knew I had to have it.

The Quench Your Skin value set includes 10 sample size or travel sized skincare products from multiple brands. This value set focuses on hydrating the skin. I paid 56 dollars Canadian for this value set.

Dr. Jart Water Drop Moisturizer

This is a lightweight moisturizer. I have used this product and it literally feels like you are splashing water on your face. This product seems to melt with the heat of your skin and it makes it look like water droplets on your skin. I really enjoying this product and I like that it is lightweight because it soaks into the skin fast.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration

This moisturizer provides long lasting hydration to even the driest skin, include those suffering with eczema! I really love this product! I used to use it religiously but then it seemed a bit too heavy for my face. However, I still use this product as a body moisturizer.

REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream

This cream is soothing and has antiaging ingredients. This product is supposed to hydrate even the most sensitive skin and protect from UV damage and antiaging.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask

This is an overnight mask that is supposed to provide hydration to the skin. This mask is also formulated to help stop the skin from becoming dehydrated. This mask is my current favourite hydration mask (read more about it in my updated skincare routine).

Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream

This moisturizer is delivers hydration using hyaluronic acid and tamarind extract. These two ingredients are supposed to help make the skin visibly hydrated and plump. This product is also supposed to brighten the skin.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream

This product is supposed to provide hydration to give the skin a healthy glow. I have used this product and I really like it. I find it soaks into the skin quickly and it does make my skin look healthy. I also like the way it feels on the skin.

GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow

This product is supposed to create a dewy, healthy looking glow to the skin. This moisturizer comes in 3 colours, however, I'm not sure what kind of effect the colours are supposed to have.

Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil

This oil has a lightweight formula so it quickly absorbs into the skin. Not only does this oil provide hydration but it supposedly helps keep a youthful appearance.

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream

Drunk Elephant skincare is very popular in the beauty community. This cream is supposed to brighten the skin and improve the firmness of the skin without feeling heavy or greasy.

Josie Maran 100 percent Pure Argan Oil

This oil can be used to provide hydration to the skin, hair and nails. I personally like using argan oil with heavier face creams as it lightens the face cream and I get the benefits of the oil without feeling greasy.

That's everything in this value set! I personally think this value set is worth it as it includes some popular items and new items! I really hope Sephora comes out with a value set for the oily skin girls (and guys!) out there!

Did you purchase this value set or will your purchase this value set? If you purchased it, do you have any favourites? Let me know in the comments below!

Stay beautiful,
Sarah
